The Greater Sudbury Police Service Auxiliary Unit is a volunteer team who are trained to assist full-time officers with their daily responsibilities. The Auxiliary are citizens who work as crowd control for special events, accompany officers on patrols, and attend emergency call outs. In addition, the Auxiliary attend to a number of tasks in community mobilization initiatives and crime prevention programs.
Currently the Auxiliary Unit includes over 20 members from every facet of the community including volunteer firefighters, students, special constables, and teachers.

Tri-Force Ball, Walden Winter Carnival, Food Bank, Heart & Stroke, Big Brothers Bowl, Race Against Drugs, Easter Seal Telethon, Board Meetings, 4th Annual Torch Run, Joe McDonald Police Basketball, Sudbury Rock's Marathon, Goddess for an Evening, St. Francis School Fair, LaSalle Cancer Relay, Celtic Festival, Emergency Radio Training, Summer Fest, Aboriginal Day, Volunteer Picnic, Intelligence Conference, Rick McDonald Memorial, Relay For Life, 125th Anniversary Celebration, Safety Lanes, G.S.P.S. Auction, Canada Day Festivities, Easter Seal Golf Tournament, Sudbury Police Assoc. Golf, Remembrance Day Parade, Santa Claus Parade and the M.C.T.V. Telethon.
