High-Risk Vehicle Stop Leads to Arrest of Five Individuals Connected to Shooting

Just before 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2020, we received a call regarding a Weapons complaint at a residential complex on Whittaker Street. The information provided was that a man had been shot and the person responsible had fled the scene.

Minutes later, Officers arrived on scene and confirmed that a 24 year old man had sustained a serious gunshot wound and was going to be transported to hospital by Paramedics. He remains in hospital in stable condition.

CDSA Search Warrant Leads to Another Significant Drug Bust

During the early morning hours of February 7th, 2020, a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) Search Warrant was executed by members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit and the Ontario Provincial Police OCEB (Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau) at a residence on Elthelbert Street in Greater Sudbury. A quantity of hydromorphone tablets, Methamphetamines and Suboxone tablets worth a total value of $1,180 were seized in addition to $5,500 in Canadian currency.

Collaborative Police Response to Break and Enter in Progress Leads to Arrest of Two People

**UPDATE**

As a result of the investigation, a vehicle used by the two individuals during the Break and Enter was located at the residence.

Upon searching the vehicle, Detectives located a firearm that had been reported stolen out of Sault Ste. Marie in 1979, as well as, over $700 worth of Fentanyl, 16 tablets of LSD and 10 Codeine pills.

The 49 year old man and 32 year old woman have been additionally charged with the following;

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of Property...
