UPDATE

Throughout the night and into the morning, officers from Patrol Operations and our Search and Rescue Team with the assistance of North Shore Search and Rescue conducted a ground search for 72-year-old, Stanley.

Shortly after 5:00 a.m. this morning, October 20, 2025, Stanley was unfortunately located deceased on Allen Street.

DEU seizes illicit drugs and cash after CDSA search warrant at 720 Bruce Avenue

On October 9, 2025, detectives from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation involving individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in our community. Members of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and K9 Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrant at a residential unit at 720 Bruce Avenue. On October 4, 2025, 26-year-old, Romaine Sam was taken into custody on the strength of the arrest warrant for Second Degree Murder x2 at the Pearson International Airport by members of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Through the investigation it was determined that Romaine Sam fled to Southern Ontario shortly after the double homicide occurred and then left the country prior to being identified.
