Shortly after 8:35 a.m. on December 30, 2024, officers were dispatched to a weapons complaint at a residential building on College Street. Information provided was that three individuals were involved in a verbal altercation leading to one of the individuals pointing what was described as a handgun at the other individuals. Shortly after 5:30 p.m. on December 23, 2024, an officer was conducting a general patrol in the area of Notre Dame Avenue when the officer witnessed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner. Two Men Arrested and Charged after Hate-Motivated Assault on Cedar Street

At around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 15th, 2024, the Greater Sudbury Police Service received reports of a disturbance on Cedar Street involving two males who assaulted two other males in an unprovoked attack. During the assault, the suspects uttered racial slurs while one of the suspects removed a garment of religious significance from one of the victims. The victims sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

33-year-old, man charged with Internet Child Exploitation-related offences

On December 18, 2024, the Greater Sudbury Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit and Break Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit executed a Search Warrant at a residence in Greater Sudbury.

As a result of the investigation, 33-year-old, Josh Ackerland was arrested and charged with the following offences:

• Possession of Child Pornography
• Access Child Pornography
• Make Available Child Pornography
