Motor Vehicle Collision on Lasalle Boulevard towards Notre Dame Avenue

Greater Sudbury Police Service is currently on the scene of a collision involving a motor cycle and a motor vehicle.
The turning lane of Lasalle Boulevard towards the Notre Dame intersection is occupied by emergency vehicles. Sudbury Police are on scene and directing the flow of traffic in both directions.
Greater Sudbury Emergency Services are also on scene at this time.
Motorists are asked to use an alternative route if possible, as there will be delays in the flow of traffic.
Canada Day – Collision Reporting Centre (CRC) Closed

The Collision Reporting Centre will be CLOSED on Canada Day, Friday July 1, 2016. The Collision Reporting Centre will resume normal hours on Saturday, July 2, 2016.
Normal hours of operation are:
Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Update; Reported Found Human Remains

Greater Sudbury Police Service can confirm that the Found Remains is a skull. The investigation is now being led by the Office of the Chief Coroner, who will be coordinating further examination of the skull.

Weapons Complaint

At approximately 12:00 p.m., Greater Sudbury Police Service Officers responded to a Weapons Complaint in the area of Falconbridge Road at Lasalle Boulevard.
A male armed with a knife attempted to gain entry to a residence, but was prevented by the occupant. There were no injuries sustained during the incident.
The male then fled on foot. He is described as being 5’7”, with short, dark hair, and is wearing a long white t-shirt and black shorts.
