Internet Child Exploitation and Computer Forensics Units arrest 43-year-old for numerous offences

On January 18,2024, the Greater Sudbury Police Service Internet Child Exploitation and Computer Forensics Units in conjunction with the Emergency Response Unit executed a Search Warrant at a residence in Greater Sudbury.
As a result of the investigation, 43-year-old, Michael Tomasik was arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code Canada:

Deceased individual located in alleyway on Frood Road

Shortly before 3:00 p.m. on January 17, 2024, officers were dispatched to an address on Frood Road in relation to a death investigation. Information provided was that community members had come across an individual they believed to be deceased in an alleyway.
Officers arrived on scene and located a 49-year-old man who had been pronounced deceased by Greater Sudbury Paramedics. No further information related to the individual’s identity will be released at this time as officers are in the process...
Detectives arrest 37-year-old in connection to home invasion and robbery

On January 11, 2024, Detectives from the Break Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit of our Integrated Crime Section located and arrested 37-year-old, Christopher Ost from British Columbia in relation to a home invasion that occurred on December 5, 2023 on Haig Street in Sudbury and a robbery that occurred on January 9, 2024 on Paris Street in Sudbury.

GSPS Media Release - Alarm at bank in Lively turn out to be an attempted money heist

Shortly after 10:15 p.m. on January 11, 2024, officers were dispatched to a bank on Main Street in Lively in relation to a Break and Enter. Information provided was that the bank’s security provider had received multiple alarms resulting in security being sent to the business. Shortly after 1:05 p.m. on January 10, 2024, officers were dispatched to the parking lot of a business on Martindale Road in relation to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained on scene.
