On Monday, July 25, 2022, we received a call from an elderly community member who believed she was a victim of a Grandparent scam.

Information provided was that she was contacted by an individual pretending to be her granddaughter from the phone number 236-335-0168. Today, July 28th, we honour and remember our Brother in Blue and friend, Sergeant Richard McDonald. While deploying a spike belt across a roadway on July 28th, 1999, Sgt. Rick McDonald was fatally injured when he was struck by a stolen vehicle that was fleeing police in the early hours of the morning. Sgt. McDonald was a 12-year veteran of the Service. UPDATE

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Detectives in the Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division identified, located and arrested the individual believed to be responsible for numerous Indecent Acts on the Junction Creek walking path in the month of July.

On July 24, 2022, Detectives charged a 15 year old with Indecent Act x5 and Criminal Harassment x5.

UPDATE 2 - Arrested  Just before 3:00 p.m. on July 22, 2022, 36-year old Cordell Miller was arrested without incident by members of our Break Enter and Robbery Unit and Tactical Unit in the South End of Sudbury. Cordell was held at Police headquarters overnight and will attend WASH court tomorrow, Saturday, July 23rd 2022 to answer to his charges. We thank the public for your assistance in this matter.
