K9 Track After Robbery Leads to Officers Locating Unresponsive Man in Need of Medical Assistance

Around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2020 we received a call regarding a Robbery that had just taken place at a food establishment on Kathleen Street. Information provided was that a lone man entered the store, approached the cash, showed a knife and demanded money. The employees immediately contacted police and the man fled on foot without getting any cash. No one was injured during the interaction.
Officers arrived on scene and set up containment in order to conduct a K9 track for the man....

Over the weekend, from Thursday, December 17th to Saturday, December 19th, 2020, our Traffic Management Unit checked 1,512 vehicles in Greater Sudbury to ensure sober driving for our fourth Festive RIDE check of the season.
During the RIDE checks, our Officers arrested a 33-year old man wanted for robbery, as well as a 49-year old man who provided a false name to the roadside officer. UPDATE
Around 2:45 p.m. on December 8, 2020, we received a call regarding what was believed to be a deceased person in a wooded area off of Wavy Lake Road.
Officers arrived on scene and confirmed that the adult woman was deceased. Due to the location where the body was found, the Ontario Provincial Police initiated an investigation into the death.

Man Stabbed During Early Morning Incident - Person Responsible in Custody

Just before 6:30 a.m. this morning, Wednesday, December 16, 2020, we received a call regarding a Weapons Complaint at a residential building on Pine Street in Greater Sudbury. Information provided was that a man had been stabbed and that the individual responsible was still in the building.
Officers arrived on scene and found a man who had suffered a serious stab wound. The 30 year old man was immediately transported to hospital by Paramedic Services and he remains in hospital in stable condition.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2020, we were called in relation to a Suspicious Vehicle complaint in the parking lot of a grocery store on Regent Street in Greater Sudbury. Information provided was that the vehicle had been running in the parking lot for two hours and the driver appeared to be asleep in the driver’s seat.
