Impaired Driver Drives Through Collision Scene Narrowly Missing Officers

Around 12:25 a.m. this morning, Tuesday, November 19, 2019, Officers were on scene investigating a serious motor vehicle collision on MR80 between Cecile Street and Isabelle Street in Val Caron when a Honda Civic sped by the Officer directing traffic and through the road barricades into the active collision scene.

Around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019, we received a call regarding a serious collision involving multiple vehicles on MR80 between Cecile Street and Isabelle Street in Val Caron.

A Honda traveling towards Sudbury collided with a Kia travelling in the same direction causing the Kia to spin out and hit a Mercedes on the opposite side of the road.

Over the past few months, the Greater Sudbury Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit (D.E.U.) conducted an investigation into a Greater Sudbury resident who was believed to be trafficking deadly “purple heroin” (a fentanyl and heroin mixture) in a residential area full of children. Between September 2018 and September 2019 the Greater Sudbury Police Service received a number of complaints in relation to EcoLife Home Improvements Incorporated. Multiple community members alleged that after providing monetary deposits for home renovation projects, the contracted work was never completed.

We are requesting the Public’s assistance in identifying the man responsible for multiple Theft of Poppy Donation Boxes, as well as, other donation boxes from local businesses.

 

Since October 23, 2019, there have been six reported Thefts of donation boxes.
