53-year-old arrested and charged for Human Trafficking-related offences

In August 2023, the Greater Sudbury Police Service Integrated Crime Section began a Human Trafficking-related investigation after receiving a report from a survivor of multiple sexual assaults and incidents of forcible confinement. To protect the survivor’s identity, no further details will be provided. 

As a result of the investigation, just after 7:00 a.m. on October 5, 2023, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Minnow Lake and an individual was taken into custody without incident....

The third suspect involved in this incident has been identified as 20-year old Brandon Leclair-Davey of Greater Sudbury and is believed to be actively evading Police. He has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada: 

  • Robbery with Violence
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order

Fatal collision MR80 at Dugas Street

Just after 3:00 a.m. this morning, September 29, 2023, officers were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Municipal Road 80 (MR80) at Dugas Street in Hanmer.

Police, City of Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services and City of Greater Sudbury Fire Services attended the scene and located the driver who was unresponsive. First responders began life-saving measures and Paramedics transported the driver to the hospital.
