The following is an update related to the fatal events that took place inside a residence on Caruso Street in Coniston. The purpose of this release is to ensure accurate information related to this investigation is shared with our community.

40 year old Man Arrested and Charged After Incident on Stanley Street

Around 1:25 a.m., this morning, November, 3, 2022, Officers were dispatched the area of Regent Street in relation to a Weapons Complaint.

Information provided was that two men had been in an altercation at a residence on Stanley Street resulting in one of the men being stabbed by the other.

Officers arrived in the area of Regent Street and located a man who had sustained what were believed to be stab wounds. The 28 year old man was transported to hospital by City of Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services...

UPDATE

Through the investigation, the three individuals have been identified as 46 year old Brian Desormeaux, 43 year old Janet Desormeaux and 17 year old Ashton Desormeaux; a father, mother and son who all lived in the residence.

This incident is being investigated as a Murder Suicide and we continue to work in collaboration with the Coroner’s Office. Due to the sensitive nature of this investigation, no further details will be provided at this time.

45 year old Man Arrested for Impaired Driving After Fleeing the Scene of Collision

Just before 11:25 p.m. last night, October 24, 2022, Police were dispatched to the area of the Maley Drive ramp heading East just off of Notre Dame Avenue in relation to a single vehicle collision involving a Black Ford F-150.

Upon arrival, Officers located two passengers in the vehicle who had sustained injuries as a result of the collision. A 39 year old man was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries and a 19 year old man was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
