Throwback to Wednesday, November 8th, 2023. On that evening, Greater Sudbury had received a torrential downpour of snow. GSPS received a call for service around 9:30 p.m. in relation to two ATV riders who were stranded in the bush area East of MR 80, North of Maley Drive. Just before 5:15 a.m. on November 13, 2023, officers were dispatched to a residential building on Orell Street in Garson in relation to a suspicious fire.
Information provided was that City of Greater Sudbury Fire Services had attended the scene and Firefighters determined the fire to be suspicious.
Prior to the residents being alerted to the fire by the fire alarms inside the residence, an unknown suspicious person dressed in dark clothing was seen in the vicinity of the building.

Officers charge four drivers with Impaired Driving on Friday night
Community members should expect to see our officers conducting Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) checks #AnywhereAnytime.
On Friday night, November 10, 2023, members of our Traffic Management Unit with assistance from Patrol Operations conducted R.I.D.E. checks on Frood Road, Lorne Street, Regent Street and in the downtown core.

Around 10:30 a.m. this morning, November 11, 2023, members of our Search and Rescue Unit located 47-year-old, Rick Jones deceased in the wooded area West of McNeil Boulevard, North of the railway tracks while conducting an evidence search in relation to the murder of Carol Fournier.
A post-mortem will be conducted through the Coroner’s Office on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, to assist in determining the cause of death, however at this time foul play is not suspected.
