Around 8:30 a.m. on September 25, 2024, officers were dispatched to a business on Lasalle Boulevard regarding a Robbery. Information provided was that an individual entered the store, threatened an employee, and demanded money. The individual then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Just before 9:15 a.m. officers located an individual on Gary Street matching the description of the person responsible for the Robbery. The individual was taken into custody without incident.
Based on the investigation, officers attended a residential garage on Diane Street where they located the stolen till from the cash register. It is believed that the individual unlawfully entered the garage to hide and discard the till.
The individual was also found to be in possession of a bicycle that officers believe was stolen in the area of Diane Street and Dollard Street. Anyone who is missing a bicycle in that area is asked to contact police at 705-675-9171 extension 6624 and provide a description of the bike.
22-year-old, Anthony Gosselin has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada;
- Uttering Threats
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Robbery
- Break and Enter
- Mischief Under $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
He attended Bail Court yesterday, September 25, 2024, to answer to the charges and was later released on bail.
