We work in collaboration with Accident Support Services to provide our community with efficient and effective collision reporting through the Collision Reporting Centre (CRC). Accident Support Services can be reached by phoning 705-983-0994.
Prior to attending the Collision Reporting Centre, please ensure that you have the proper and valid documentations including your Driver's License, ownership and insurance slip, as well as the vehicle involved.
If your vehicle has been towed from the collision scene, confirm with the tow company that the vehicle has been towed to and from CRC for photos.
Motor vehicle collisions that occur within the City of Greater Sudbury are generally directed to report to the Collision Reporting Centre.
What should you do after a collision?
Assess the Damage |
Check your vehicle and the others involved to estimate whether the total damage exceeds $5,000. |
Exchange Information |
You must exchange information with the other driver. The easiest way to do this is by taking a photo with your phone

Mandatory Reporting |
Accidents involving injuries/death, criminal activity (e.g. impaired driving), or damage to private/public property (buildings, light standard, hydro pole, road signs or guardrails) must be reported, regardless of the amount of damage. |
Attend the Collision Reporting Centre |
If the total damage exceeds $5,000, you’re unsure of the total costs, or you wish to report the damage to facilitate an insurance claim and ensure that all the proper information is documented |
Call 9-1-1 when the collision;
- Results in serious injury or death
- Results is significant property damage
- Involves a vehicle involved is carrying hazardous material
- There is reason to believe criminality is involved (i.e. impaired driver, stolen vehicle, etc.)
- If you or another person is in imminent danger
- If you are witness to or are involved in a hit and run on the roadway. When possible, record the licence plate number, description of the vehicle and occupants, location and direction of travel of the suspect
What happens when you attend the Collision Reporting Centre |
1. If the vehicle is safe to drive, drive the vehicle to the Collision Reporting Centre within 24 hours of the collision, complete the report and drive away with your vehicle. 2. If the vehicle is NOT drivable or is too damaged:

Do not leave your damaged vehicle at the Collision Reporting Centre at any time.
As the weather continues to change, please adjust your driving according to road conditions. Reduce your speed, increase your following distance and avoid distractions inside your vehicle.

- Saturday 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

- CLOSED on statutory holidays
