Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on October 22, 2024, police were dispatched to a residential unit on Albinson Street in relation to a Weapons complaint reported after-the-fact. Information provided was that around 3:00 p.m. a community member had attended the unit as it was supposed to be unoccupied. Upon entering the unit, the community member found two individuals inside the residence. One of the individuals pointed a gun at the community member and told her to leave. The community member left and a short time later saw the individuals exit the residence.
Officers arrived on scene and made entry into the unit to ensure the safety of those who may be left inside. Officers cleared the residence and did not find any other occupants.
During the investigation, it was determined that same individual who pointed the firearm at the community member is believed to have pointed the firearm at another individual while at a residence on Cedar Street. Furthermore, the individual is believed to have discharged the firearm inside the unit on Albinson Street on October 21, 2024. No one was injured during these interactions.
Shortly before 10:40 p.m., the individual believed to be responsible for these incidents was located outside the residence on Albinson Street and was taken into custody without incident.
23-year-old, Draedon Henry has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada;
- Pointing a Firearm x2
- Carless Use of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Draedon Henry was held in police custody overnight and attended Bail Court on October 23, 2024, to answer to the charges.
