Earlier this month, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit initiated an investigation into an individual believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in Greater Sudbury.
On January 16, 2025, members of the Integrated Crime Section with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns & Gangs Enforcement Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at an address on Oak Street in Greater Sudbury.
During the search warrant, detectives seized over 133 grams of Cocaine, 771 Methamphetamine tablets and 52 prescription pills worth approximately $20,000.
As a result, a 31-year-old, woman was arrested and charged with the following offences under the CDSA, Criminal Code of Canada and Highway Traffic Act (HTA);
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance x3
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule III Substance
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
- Driving While Under Suspension
She was released on a promise to appear with a court date of February 12, 2025, to answer to the charges. Her name cannot be released at this time as the information has not yet been sworn to through the court process.
