In October 2024, the Greater Sudbury Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit initiated an online investigation targeting offenders who were actively luring children.
On October 22, 2024, our ICE Unit in collaboration with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Angus, Ontario.
As a result of the investigation, 36-year-old Bailey Hately was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Luring a child under 16
- Make child pornography
Bailey Hately appeared in Bail Court on October 22, 2024, to answer to the charges.
Further review of the data on the devices that were seized during the search warrant by our Computer Forensics Unit resulted in Bailey Hately being arrested and charged on April 9, 2025, with the additional following offences:
- Make child pornography x2
- Access child pornography
- Possession of child pornography
- Luring a child under 18 x2
- Luring a child under 16 x2
- Adult communicating with anyone under 18 years old for obtaining sexual services
Bailey Hately appeared in Bail Court on April 9, 2025, to answer to the charges.
