Just before 7:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to Big Nickel Mine Road in relation to a motor vehicle collision. Information provided was that prior to the collision, a vehicle was being driven in an erratic manner. The vehicle then sideswiped another vehicle before leaving the road and striking the guardrail.

Officers arrived on scene and located the driver of the other vehicle who had sustained minor injuries because of the collision. Upon speaking with the driver of the vehicle responsible for the collision, officers detected signs of impairment.

Officers conducted a Standard Field Sobriety Test, that the driver failed. The driver, a 38-year-old, woman was arrested for Impaired Operation and Dangerous Operation. She was transported to police headquarters where a Drug Recognition Expert completed an evaluation and confirmed that she was impaired by drugs.

She was released on an appearance notice with a court date of August 21, 2024. Her name cannot be released at this time as the information has not yet been sworn to through the court process.
