On April 9, 2024, Detectives from the Integrated Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division began an investigation into an individual believed to have committed numerous historical sexual violence-related offences against individuals under the age of 18.
Detectives arrested and charged 60-year-old, Marcel Armstrong with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada;
- Sexual Assault
- Publication of Intimate Images without Consent
- Voyeurism x2
- Possession of Child Pornography
- Makes, Prints, Publishes or Possesses for the Purpose of Publication any Child Pornography
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Breach of Firearms Regulation-Store firearm or restricted weapon
Marcel Armstrong was held in police custody overnight and attended Bail Court on April 10, 2024, to answer to the charges. A publication ban has been issued in relation to this investigation, therefore no further details can be provided.
