seizure traffic stop Notre Dane AveOn April 23, 2025, Detectives from the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation into individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in Greater Sudbury. Based on the investigation, members of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) conducted a traffic stop on Notre Dame Avenue and arrested two individuals, both from Southern Ontario.

As a result of the arrests and search of the individuals and vehicle, Detectives located and seized loaded handgun, approximately 180 grams of Cocaine, 56 grams of Fentanyl, 35 – 8mg Hydromorphone pills, a replica handgun, and $8,900 in cash. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $24,000.

As a result of the traffic stop on Notre Dame Avenue, 35-year-old, Korey Alleyne and 31-year-old, Yussef Abu-Hewaydi, both from Southern Ontario have been charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x3
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Carry a concealed weapon.
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm.
  • Possession of a restricted firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized.
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
  • Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition.
  • Firearm – Tampering with serial number.
  • Firearm – Possession contrary to prohibition order x 2.
  • Driving while under suspension – Contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

A subsequent Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant was conducted at a residence on Brady Street resulting in the arrest of a third individual from Greater Sudbury.

As a result of the search warrant executed at the residence on Brady Street, 26-year-old, Patrick Tarczyluk of Greater Sudbury has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Fail to comply with release order.
  • Ammunition - Possession contrary to prohibition order

All three individuals were held in police custody overnight and will attend Bail Court today, April 24, 2025, to answer to the charges.
