On May 2, 2024, Detectives from the Greater Sudbury Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation regarding individuals from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) who were believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in Greater Sudbury.
Detectives from the Integrated Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division, along with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU), K-9 Unit and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns & Gangs Enforcement Team executed a search warrant on a Pine Street.
During the search warrant, Detectives located approximately 298 grams of crack cocaine, 117 Oxycodone pills, 511 Hydromorphone pills, 55 morphine pills, over $6,000 in cash, two prohibited weapons, and 275 Cellular SIM cards that are suspected to be stolen. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is over $40,000.
As a result, 24-year-old, Dravid Collis and a 29-year-old, Ezra Domingo from the GTA have been charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code of Canada:
- Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking: Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking: Oxycodone
- Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking: Morphine
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
They will attend bail court later today, May 2, 2024, to answer to the charges.
