The following information relates to persons charged with impaired driving offences in the City of Greater Sudbury. As part of Our Shared Commitment to Community Safety and Law Enforcement our Officers are dedicated to removing impaired drivers from our roads. The Greater Sudbury Police Service asks you to consider the impact you will have on your community, your family and yourself when you get behind the wheel of a vehicle when your ability is impaired. 

Date: 14 May 17   

Driver: Eric Preseault (27-years old)                      

Charges: Impaired driving, Over 80 mgs of alcohol, Possession of controlled substance

Notes: Police were called by a concerned citizen who witnessed two people in a parked vehicle drinking alcohol. Police located the vehicle that was being driven down a roadway and initiated a traffic stop. Upon dealing with the driver, he exhibited signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside test registered a fail and subsequent breath tests confirmed alcohol over the legal limit. A search of the man revealed a quantity of cannabis marihuana and he was charged accordingly.

 

Date: 17 May 17                               

Driver: Linda Amyotte (44-years old)

Charges: Over 80 mgs of alcohol

Notes: The accused executed a turn with her motor vehicle and in doing so she cut off a Police cruiser that needed to take evasive action to avoid a collision. A traffic stop was initiated and upon dealing with the driver, she exhibited signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside test registered a fail and subsequent breath tests confirmed alcohol over the legal limit.

 

Date: 20 May 17

Driver: Joel Corriveau (43-years old)

Charges: Over 80 mgs of alcohol

Notes: An officer witnessed a car being driven on a roadway without taillights that almost hit a curb while attempting a left turn. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver exhibited signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside test registered a fail and subsequent breath tests confirmed alcohol over the legal limit.

 

Date: 20 May 17

Driver: Charles Beatch (19-years old)

Charges: Impaired driving, Over 80 mgs of alcohol

Notes: The accused was observed by an Officer driving his motor vehicle with a front tire missing. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver exhibited signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside test registered a fail and subsequent breath tests confirmed alcohol over the legal limit.

 

Date: 22 May 17

Driver: Marco Accurso (35-years old)

Charges: Refuse breath sample

Notes: Police were called in relation to a suspected impaired driver. Police located the driver and the vehicle in the parking lot of a local restaurant. The driver exhibited signs of alcohol consumption. Police read the driver the breath demand and the man refused to comply. The Officer explained the criminal results of not complying and the man refused again. The accused is not from this province so he was held in custody pending bail.  

 

Date: 24 May 17    

Driver: Jessie Allen (34-years old)              

Charges: Impaired driving, Over 80 mgs of alcohol, Dangerous driving, Drive motor vehicle with no plates

Notes: A vehicle was observed driving without a license plate at a high rate of speed, passing unsafely and crossing the center lane. A traffic stop was conducted and upon speaking to the driver, he exhibited signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside test registered a fail and subsequent breath tests confirmed alcohol over the legal limit. Upon arrest the accused was found to have possession of a drug and he was charge accordingly.

 

Date: 27 May 17

Driver: Ethan Filippini (21-years old)

Charges: Dangerous driving causing death, Impaired driving causing death, Over 80 mgs of alcohol causing death, Young driver over 80 mgs of alcohol

Notes: The accused was operating his motor vehicle in a dangerous manner causing a catastrophic collision with an oncoming vehicle resulting in the death of his passenger. The investigation revealed the driver to have been consuming alcohol before operating his motor vehicle and as a young driver, he was required to maintain a zero blood alcohol level. 

 

Date: 28 May 17       

Driver: Paul Disalle (37-years old)

Charges: Impaired driving, Over 80 mgs of alcohol

Notes: Police received a complaint about a suspicious vehicle being driven continuously up and down a city street weaving between lanes. A traffic stop was conducted and upon speaking to the driver, he exhibited signs of alcohol consumption. A roadside test registered a fail and subsequent breath tests confirmed alcohol over the legal limit. 

 

Date: 30 May 17

Driver: Larry Gaudreau (45-years old)

Charges: Refuse breath sample, Drive while suspended x 2

Notes: The accused was involved in a single vehicle collision while driving his motorcycle with a passenger. EMS and Police were dispatched and upon speaking with the accused, he exhibited signs of alcohol consumption. Police read the driver the breath demand and the man refused to comply. The Officer explained the criminal results of not complying and the man refused again. The investigation revealed the driver was under two driving suspensions and was charged accordingly.

All drivers involved have had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for 7 days.
