Shortly after 1:05 p.m. on January 10, 2024, officers were dispatched to the parking lot of a business on Martindale Road in relation to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained on scene.
Upon arrival, Greater Sudbury Fire Services and Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services began life-saving measures on the 57-year-old pedestrian who had been struck by the vehicle in the parking lot. The pedestrian was transported to hospital by Paramedics. Unfortunately, she was pronounced deceased by medical professionals.
Out of respect for the family’s wishes, the individual’s name will not be released. Our deepest condolences go out to her family and friends.
Members of our Traffic Management Unit are investigating the collision and the investigation into the incident is ongoing. There are no charges being laid at this time.
