Around 11:15 p.m. on September 26, 2023, police were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Estaire Road in Greater Sudbury.

Police, City of Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services and City of Greater Sudbury Fire Services attended the scene and located the vehicle. Unfortunately, the driver and lone occupant, a 62-year-old man from Greater Sudbury was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends. His name will not be released out of respect for his family’s wishes.

Based on the investigation, it is believed that the black, four-door GMC pick-up truck was travelling South on Estaire Road when it struck the guard-rail, the driver lost control of the vehicle, and the vehicle ended up in the ditch.

Members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service Traffic Management Unit are investigating the collision.
