Just before 2:55 p.m. on November 3, 2024, officers were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Nickel Offset Road in Chelmsford. Information provided was two individuals, the driver and a passenger had been ejected from the vehicle and the driver had sustained life-threatening injuries.

Greater Sudbury Police, Fire and Paramedic Services attended the scene. Members of Greater Sudbury Fire Services were first on scene and began life saving measures on the driver until Paramedics arrived. Unfortunately, the 27-year-old, man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger, a 21-year-old, woman was transported to hospital by Paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased. His name will not be released out of respect for his family’s wishes.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the driver was doing a donut in an open field when the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a rollover. Both occupants, who were not wearing seatbelts, were ejected from the vehicle during the incident.

The Traffic Management Unit is investigating the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
