Four people arrested and charged in connection to the murder of 31-year-old man

UPDATE 2

On April 14, 2023, Detectives from the Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division located the body of 31-year-old Emad Ali in a wooded area off Dryden Road in Greater Sudbury. Upon locating the body, members of our Search and Rescue Team working in collaboration with North Shore Search and Rescue and GSPS and OPP K9 Units conducted an extensive ground search of the area.

Through the investigation it is believed that Emad was murdered in November 2022 and his body was dumped in the wooded area.

As a result of the investigation, four individuals have been arrested and charged.

33-year-old, Joel Roy has been charged with Murder, Indignity to Body, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

43-year-old, Kevin Lamoureaux has been charged with Murder and Indignity to Body.

33-year-old, Joshua Lavallie has been charged with Indignity to Body and Accessory After the Fact to Murder.

33-year-old, Michelle Zazulak has been charged with Accessory After the Fact to Murder.

All four parties have appeared in Bail Court and have since been remanded into custody.

Joel Roy and Michelle Zazulak will appear in court on May 4, 2023. Kevin Lamoureaux will appear in court on May 11, 2023. Joshua Lavallie will appear in court on May 25, 2023.

A publication ban has been issued in relation to this incident, therefore no further information will be provided.

31-year -old Emad Ali was last seen in the Greater Sudbury area between October and November of 2022.

Additional descriptors of Emad include long braided hair, mustache, goatee, thin beard and a scar on the bridge of his nose.

There are concerns for Emad's wellbeing.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance to locate 31-year-old Emad Ali.

Emad was last seen in Toronto, Ontario on October 7, 2022. There are no clothing descriptors available. Emad is described as 5'9" tall, 140 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair.

There are concerns for Emad's well-being.
