Just before 2:15 a.m. this morning, October 5, 2022, Officers were dispatched to the area of Willow Street in Greater Sudbury after reports of what was believed to be gunshots. Information provided was that multiple gunshots had been heard and that a man had possibly been shot.
Upon arrival Officers located a vehicle leaving the area. Officers conducted a traffic stop and while speaking with the individuals determined that one of the parties had sustained what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The 19 year old man was transported to hospital by City of Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services with serious injuries. Upon searching the vehicle a loaded gun was located. An additional occupant of the vehicle, a 35 year old man, was taken into custody.
Members of our Emergency Response Unit arrived on scene as it was believed that the incident had occurred at a residence on Willow Street and that additional persons involved in the incident were still inside the residence.
Officers set up containment of the residence while members of ERU attempted to establish communication with the people inside. Shortly after 5:00 a.m. a 37 year old woman and a 43 year old man exited the residence and surrendered to Police without incident.
Officers remain at the residence as Detectives from our Criminal Investigation Division will be applying for a Search Warrant of the residence. This is believed to be a targeted incident.
At this time, four individuals remain in Police custody. Additional information including charges will be updated when more information becomes available.
