Just after 7:15 a.m. on October 15, 2020, we received a call from a business owner on Churchill Avenue after it was discovered that the business had been broken into overnight. A window of the business had been smashed and when the owner entered the business it was obvious that the business had been ransacked. Various items had been taken including cigarettes, drinks, electronics, scratch tickets and money from the cash register totaling approximately $10,000.
Officers arrived on scene and initiated an investigation. The Officers collected and reviewed video surveillance footage of the incident and determined that a man and a woman were responsible for the Break and Enter.
Around 3:30 a.m. on November 6, 2020, we received an Alarm call from a local business on Elm Street. Officers arrived on scene a short time later and found the glass front door of the business had been broken by what appeared to be a rock.
Officers retrieved and reviewed video surveillance from the business and were able to determine that a man and a woman were responsible for the Break and Enter.
Detectives from our Break Enter and Robbery Unit were able to identify the individuals as being responsible for both of the incidents.
Shortly before 9:40 a.m. on November 11, 2020, Patrol Officers located both individuals walking down Notre Dame Avenue. The man and woman were arrested without incident.
The 26 year old man and the 40 year old woman were charged with Break and Enter x2, Possession of Stolen Property and Trafficking in Stolen Property. Both individuals were released on an Undertaking with a Court date of February 3, 2021.
