Just after 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2020, a man entered a convenience store on Notre Dame Avenue and began arguing with the employee at the counter. The man then pulled what was believed to be a firearm from the waistband of his pants and pointed it at the employee. The man exited the store with a package of cigarettes. The employee was not injured during the altercation.
Officers arrived on scene as the man was leaving the store parking lot. The Officers placed the man under arrest and searched the man, locating a black pellet gun in the waistband of the man’s pants, as well as, the package of cigarettes.
35 year old Gregory Armstrong was charged with the following under the Criminal Code of Canada;
- Robbery Using a Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Imitation Firearm – Use While Committing an Offence
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Pointing a Firearm
He was held for Bail Court today, Monday, May 4, 2020 to answer to the charges.
