Just before 6:30 a.m. this morning, Wednesday, December 16, 2020, we received a call regarding a Weapons Complaint at a residential building on Pine Street in Greater Sudbury. Information provided was that a man had been stabbed and that the individual responsible was still in the building.

Officers arrived on scene and found a man who had suffered a serious stab wound. The 30 year old man was immediately transported to hospital by Paramedic Services and he remains in hospital in stable condition.

Through the investigation it was determined that the individual responsible was inside one of the units in the building. Officers made entry into the building and took the 40 year old woman into custody for Attempt Murder.

This is believed to be an isolated incident as the two individuals are known to each other.

The woman will attend Bail Court today to answer to the charge.

Her name cannot be released at the information has not yet been sworn to through the Court process.

Officers remain on scene of the incident and will be canvassing the area for information and video surveillance footage. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
