Just before 9:05 p.m. on March 10, 2025, officers were dispatched to a serious collision involving a pedestrian on MR80, South of MacKenzie Street.

Greater Sudbury Police, Fire and Paramedic Services arrived on scene and located a pedestrian with serious, life-threatening injuries. The individual, believed to be in her 30’s was transported to hospital by Paramedics where she remains in critical condition. The identity of the pedestrian is unknown at this time as emergency responders were unable to locate any identification at the time of the collision. 

Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed that the pedestrian was walking in turning lane of MR80 when she stepped into the northbound lane and was struck by the vehicle. The driver and vehicle involved in the collision remained on scene.

The Integrated Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the collision and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
