Just before 3:00 a.m. this morning, September 23, 2024, officers were dispatched to the area of Elgin Street at Nelson Street in relation to an assault reported after-the-fact. Information provided was that an individual had been stabbed and required medical attention.
Officers arrived in the area and located two individuals who had sustained what are believed to be stab wounds. The 37- and 43-year-old men were transported to hospital by Greater Sudbury Paramedics with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Based on the initial investigation, it is believed that an altercation took place between the two men and a group of unidentified parties resulting in the two men being stabbed.
The individuals involved fled the area prior to police being contacted.
This is believed to be a targeted incident.
