UPDATE 

Around 1:45 p.m. on September 13, 2024, Detectives from the Break Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit located and arrested 36-year-old, Brent Bertrand on Pharand Street.

We would like to commend the efforts of those involved in this investigation for quickly locating and arresting a violent offender.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to locate 36-year-old, Brent Bertrand (image attached) who is wanted for the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada;

  • Assault x 2
  • Overcome Resistance
  • Break, Enter and Commit
  • Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Mischief Under $5,000

Shortly after 4:05 p.m. on September 11, 2024, Brent Bertrand is believed to have attended a residence on Theresa Avenue in Hanmer where he broke into the residence causing damage to the home. Once inside, it is believed that Brent Bertrand threatened and assaulted an individual causing non-life-threatening injuries before stealing items from the residence and fleeing on foot. 

This is a targeted incident as the individuals involved are known to each other.

Officers have applied for and been granted an arrest warrant for 36-year-old, Brent Bertrand.
