Shots Fired at Residence on MR 80 in Val Caron

**UPDATE**

A 25 year old man from Greater Sudbury has been arrested and charged with Extortion and Criminal Harassment in relation to this incident.

The man has been remanded into custody with a court date of April 23, 2020.

**ORIGINAL**

Shortly after 4:00 a.m. this morning, Monday, April 20, 2020, we received a call regarding shots fired at a residence on MR 80 near 5^th Street in Val Caron. No injuries were reported, however there were three individuals inside the home at the time of the incident.

Officers arrived on scene a short time later, securing the residence and shutting down MR 80 for a short period of time in order to collect physical evidence as a result of what is believed to have been a drive by shooting.

Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division, Forensics Unit and Patrol Operations remain on scene as the investigation into this matter is ongoing.

This is believed to be a targeted and isolated incident. We do not believe there to be any threat to the general public.
