At approximately 2:00 a.m. on February 13th, 2025, the Greater Sudbury Police Service responded to a call regarding a home invasion and shooting at a residence on Lasalle Boulevard. The homeowner sustained minor injuries following a brief physical altercation, including a non-life-threatening wound from a gunshot.

Upon arrival, Patrol Officers observed three males fleeing the scene on foot. One suspect entered a waiting motor vehicle occupied by a man and a woman. Police were able to quickly contain the suspect vehicle and arrest all three individuals without incident. A search of the vehicle revealed illicit drugs and a firearm.

Members of the Emergency Response Unit and K9 Unit attended and searched the area for the remaining suspects. One suspect was located and arrested without incident in an unoccupied commercial vehicle at a business nearby on Lasalle Boulevard, where a firearm and illicit drugs were recovered. The third suspect was found and arrested without incident at a separate nearby business on Lasalle Boulevard, also found to be in possession of illicit drugs.

Through the investigation, Police identified a fourth suspect involved in the home invasion. At approximately 8:30 a.m. on February 13th, 2025, the fourth suspect voluntarily attended police headquarters to surrender to the charges.

The four men involved in the home invasion – two 16-year-old young men from Southern Ontario, an 18-year-old man from Southern Ontario and a 24-year-old man from Greater Sudbury have been charged with the following offences pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA):

  • Attempt Murder
  • Break and Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Fentanyl

Additionally, all four individuals face numerous firearms-related charges under the Criminal Code of Canada.

Their names cannot be released as the information has not yet been sworn to through the court process. All four individuals are currently being held in Police custody, awaiting future court dates.

A 37-year-old man and 37-year-old woman, both residents of Greater Sudbury and occupants of the getaway vehicle, have been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA):

  • Accessory after the fact
  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Fentanyl

Additionally, the 37-year-old man faces a charge of Breach of Probation.

Their names cannot be released as the information has not yet been sworn to through the court process. Both individuals are currently being held in Police custody, awaiting future court dates.

In total, 200 grams of Cocaine and 100 grams of Fentanyl were seized, for an estimated street value of $30,000.

At this time, Police are in the process of applying for search warrants for two residences in Greater Sudbury.

This was a targeted incident where the individuals involved were known to each other. There is currently no known threat to public safety.
