Around 8:05 a.m. on December 14, 2024, officers were dispatched to a residential building on David Street in Chelmsford in relation to a weapons complaint.
Information provided was that individuals inside the building heard what were believed to be gunshots inside one of the residential units.
Officers arrived on scene and set-up containment of the building. While on scene, two individuals from the unit in question exited the building to speak with officers.
The individuals indicated that a third person was inside the unit. Due to concerns for the individual’s safety, officers entered the unit. Officers located the third person who was escorted out of the building. While in the unit, officers located what is believed to be Cocaine and other drug paraphernalia, as well as, an empty shell casing and a rifle.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
The three individuals, 33-year-old, Curtis Bowles, 33-year-old, April Oake and 33-year-old, Jeffrey Bellmore have been charged with the following offence under the Criminal Code of Canada and Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA):
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
All three individuals were held in custody overnight and attended Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on December 15, 2024, to answer to the charges.
