Around 1:30 a.m. on July 3, 2024, officers were dispatched to a Home Invasion on Colonial Court. Information provided was that a group of masked individuals broke into the residence and assaulted the resident inside the home. While assaulting the resident, one of the individuals displayed and discharged a firearm. The group of individuals then stole personal items belonging to the resident and fled the scene in a vehicle.

Through the investigation, Detectives from the Integrated Crime Section identified the vehicle used to flee the scene. Around 7:40 p.m. on July 3, 2024, Detectives located the vehicle being driven by one of the individuals believed to be involved in the incident on Moonlight Beach Road. Members of Emergency Response Unit (ERU) conducted a high-risk traffic stop and the three individuals inside the vehicle were taken into custody.   

Upon arresting and searching the three individuals and the vehicle, officers located the firearm that was believed to have been used during the home invasion, as well as 53 grams of Fentanyl and over 17 grams of Cocaine.

As a result of the investigation, 25-year-old, Austin Soulliere-Hibbert from Sudbury, 27-year-old, Reshean Notice-Morgan from Southern Ontario and Ashtoney Thompson from Southern Ontario have been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA);

  • Break and Enter
  • Robbery Using a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Motor Vehicle
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x2

The three individuals were held in police custody overnight and will attend Bail Court today, July 4, 2024, to answer to the charges.

This is a targeted incident as the individuals involved are known to each other.
