On the morning of February 11th, 2025, Detectives from the Greater Sudbury Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation regarding individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in Greater Sudbury. As a result of the investigation, the GSPS Emergency Response Unit (ERU) executed a search warrant on Leslie Street in Greater Sudbury.

Throughout the search of the residence, Officers located approximately 79 grams of cocaine, 33 grams of Fentanyl, and approximately $1,000 in Canadian currency. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately $12,000.

As a result, a 46-year old man from Greater Sudbury, a 28-year old man from Southern Ontario and a 16-year old young man from Southern Ontario have been charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, to wit: Fentanyl
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The 16-year old individual was released on an undertaking, awaiting a future court date. The 46- and 28-year-old men are currently being held in Police custody and will attend bail court on February 11th, 2025, to answer to the charges. Their names cannot be released at this time as the information has not yet been sworn to through the court process.
