Around 1:00 a.m. on July 29, 2021, we responded to an Assault complaint at Laurentian University. Upon arrival Officers found a 27 year old man unconscious in the wooded area on the University’s property. He was transported to hospital by City of Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services in serious condition.

Later that day, Detectives in the Major Crime Section of our Criminal Investigation Division arrested and charged three men in relation to the incident.

24 year old Elijah Keeper, 29 year old Kieffer Quill and a 17 year old (Young Offender) have been charged with Attempt Murder.

The 24 and 17 year old men are also facing additional charges of Breach of Probation and Fail to Comply with Undertaking x3. The 17 year old man cannot be named as per the Young Offenders Act.

The 27 year old man is expected to make a full recovery.

This was an isolated and targeted incident as the involved individuals are known to each other and there is no threat to the general Public.

No further details can be provided as a publication ban has been issued in relation to this incident.
