UPDATE - Ground search in New Sudbury - Missing person 48-year-old Catherine "Wendy"

The Greater Sudbury Police Service continues to ask for the public’s assistance in locating missing person, 48-year-old, Catherine “Wendy”.

This afternoon, members of Patrol Operations, Criminal Investigations, Search and Rescue, Emergency Response, K9 and North Shore Search and Rescue will be conducting a ground search in the wooded area off Madeleine Avenue, Lasalle Boulevard and Arthur Street as Catherine “Wendy” was last seen in that area just before 4:00 p.m. on May 1, 2024.

There will be an increased police presence in the area while officers and volunteers with North Shore Search and Rescue are on scene.

Anyone with information related to Catherine’s “Wendy” is asked to contact police at 705-675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477.

Based on the investigation, Detectives have obtained video, confirming that 48-year-old, Catherine “Wendy” was last seen in New Sudbury just before 4:00 p.m. on May 1, 2024.

Based on the video, Catherine “Wendy” was last seen wearing blue jeans, a grey hoody, a black and white windbreaker-style jacket and brown leather boots (image attached).

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is seeking the public's assistance in locating 48-year old Catherine who also goes by the name "Wendy".

Catherine "Wendy" is described as 5’3” tall, 130 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes. There are no current clothing descriptors.

Catherine "Wendy" was last seen on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024 in the area of Bruce Street.

Police are concerned for her wellbeing due to the elapsed time since she was last seen or heard from.
