You can report a Theft from Vehicle even if your vehicle was unlocked and no items were taken, however, we remind you that moving forward, the safety and security of your vehicle is ultimately your responsibility. Please lock your vehicle.
Please note the following when filing a Theft from Vehicle report:
- If someone entered your vehicle but nothing was taken, this is still considered a Theft from Vehicle.
- In the property section of the report, please indicate the property taken as other and in the description of property section; indicate nothing taken with a value of $0.
- If items were taken, please make a separate entry for each piece of property and include any serial numbers that are available
Please provide the following information when submitting a Theft from Vehicle report:
- Where your vehicle was parked (parking lot, underground garage, driveway, etc.)
- Was a security camera present at the scene? If so, where?
- Point of entry into your vehicle (front passenger window, rear driver door, etc.)
